About the Show
Xaria Does It! is a new documentary television show presented by Austin PBS.
Each episode follows comedian and Austinite, Xaria J'Stone Coleman, as she learns from experts in art and culture around ATX—culminating with a live event where she'll show off what she's learned.
Xaria Does It! celebrates the messiness and resilience of being a beginner through a lighthearted and comedic lens. With a focus on highlighting the excellence of Queer people and Black creatives, Xaria Does It aims to shine a light on the talented artists, entrepreneurs and icons who are fighting to preserve Austin's identity as a hotbed of creative, unique expression despite growing corporate influences that threaten to push artists out of the city.
Season 1 episode topics include: Xaria Does Baseball, Jazz Orchestra, Rollerskating and Punk Rock/Hardcore Music.
The season 1 finale of Xaria Does It! will culminate with Xaria learning from the artists of the House of Lepore to walk ballroom at the Paramount Theater's flagship Pride event, The Majestic Ball, in June 2026.

"I’m a comedian, storyteller, and lifelong Austinite who’s spent 16 years using humor to move through anxiety, connect with others, and explore my identity as a Black, queer, neurodivergent woman. Growing up in Austin, I’ve seen my city change drastically—gentrification, widening wealth gaps, and shifting cultural landscapes—and yet, Black and queer joy continues to thrive here, even if it’s underrepresented in local media. This show is an effort to change that." - Xaria J. Coleman
